MECHANICAL AND FUNCTIONAL TESTING

Testing reliability

Aequalis has the equipment and skills necessary to submit materials, sample materials, prototypes and finished products to mechanical and functional testing in order to verify their suitability for intended use. In addition to the availability of equipment for standard testing, Aequalis can also provide equipment and perform tests which are designed to meet specific customer needs.

STATIC TESTING

Aequalis can carry out tensile testing, bending, torsion and composite stress on both standard samples and composite structures including those of large dimensions. Testable materials range from textiles, plastics and rubbers to high strength steel. The stresses applied reach up to 250 KN.

FATIGUE TESTING

Fatigue stress is the most problematic because it can lead to structural failure even under low loads. Aequalis can apply fatigue stress testing to components, products and complex structures with different types of stress (traction, bending, torsion, rotating flexibility and tension rotation). The stresses applied reach up to 20 KN with frequencies of up to 100Hz depending on the performance requirements.

VIBRATION TESTING

The stress conditions of components and products subject to vibration are reproduced by means of electrodynamic shakers. We can apply different types of vibrational profiles (sine, shock, random), if necessary combined with thermal cycling.

IMPACT TESTING

We can perform impact tests on components and products according to standard regulations (eg UNI EN 13087 for helmets, UNI EN 1621 for motorcycle protective clothing) or specific tests according to the particular needs of a client.

ENVIROMENTAL TESTING

Aequalis is able to reproduce the aggressive effect of atmospheric agents on products and components in order to verify durability. We can reproduce the effect of sunlight (xenotest), corrosive atmospheres (salt spray) and changes in temperature and humidity (thermal shock, climatic chamber).

FUNCTIONAL TESTING

We are able to simulate, by means of customized test benches, the operational conditions of components and products. We can also reproduce particular environmental conditions or attacks by a liquid or gaseous atmosphere. The laboratory also has a boom room for testing with flammable or explosive substances.

ACOUSTICAL NOISE TESTING

Aequalis is able to perform measurements of noise emissions of products and components during their operation or under special conditions. To ensure the reliability of results, these measurements are performed in anechoic chamber.
